These Are a Few of My Favorite Things

In response to The Daily Post’s Blogging 101 Challenge, here are three of the blogs I follow and read most regularly. They also happen to reflect a few of my favorite pursuits: eating travel, and writing, which I often enjoy even more when done concurrently.

Bucket List Publications

Writer and adventurer Lesley Carter shares photos and musings as she tackles tasks on her annual Bucket List. Entries for 2014 span everything from swimming with sharks to taking “The Sound of Music Tour” in Salzburg, Austria.

The author of this blog finished her doctoral dissertation on food and contemporary French literature a few years ago, but she’s not too refined to compete in the annual Brooklyn Mac and Cheeze Takedown. coolcookstyle shares recipes, NYC restaurant recommendations, and more. What’s not to love?

Live To Write – Write To Live

This blog from the New Hampshire Writers’ Network features eight working writers who take turns blogging about “the craft and business of writing.” In addition to new posts several times a week, Live To Write – Write To Live has an extensive set of archives that includes entries on memoirs, marketing, and more.

So, with apologies to Rodgers and Hammerstein “when the dog bites, when the bee stings, when I’m feeling sad,” I simply read about my favorite things, and then I don’t feel so bad.
